Beyond : A dialogue with My Consciousness ( part I )




It all started on Wednesday 19th July 2017 when I watched Star Trek: Beyond on TV. It brought back old memories of childhood. I must have been 12 or 13 years old at that time in and around 1980/83 when I used to watch the original Star Trek series created by Gene Rodenberry with William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk & Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock. It used to be broadcast on Sunday mornings around 10 AM on Doordarshan.

Back then I was of an impressionable age (not that I am not so now – many things don’t change with time or age). Anyways at that time I wanted to be a Star trekker like Captain James T. Kirk. Not because I was interested in astronomy or any such science but purely because of the exciting adventures Captain James T. Kirk had and the awesomeness of the Star ship “Enterprise” he had at his command and not to forget how they could teleport themselves from one place to another just by giving a command “ENERGIZE”. Back then it was just the visuals which were so overwhelmingly attractive. Just imagine Star ships travelling at Warp velocity with warp-drive1, using laser guns on enemies, having invisible energy field shields to protect star ships, their communicators and Dr. McCoy’s Tricorder2.

Years passed by and in-between those years my interests varied from aspiring to become an amateur detective (Hardy Boys3), musician, singer (Mod. Rafi was my idol), novel writer, cricketer and even a poet. Good sense prevailed in understanding that I did not possess that talent for becoming any of the above & so finally settled being an engineer, but this is not a story about me or my earthly aspirations, is it? If at all it is a story of a human in search of himself (WHO AM I – Yes that eternal question of course is an integral one to this writeup), trying and stumbling to find answers to many other questions which crop up necessarily or unnecessarily along this quest.

So, as I said before it all began on Wednesday 19th July …. & I began to think how did these star Ships travel at Warp-speeds4 ? So, I read a bit about it on google & went to sleep. I was dreaming about interstellar travel and wormholes5 in my sleep & suddenly my Consciousness told me that interstellar travel is not so difficult in terms of distances. How? because matter, space & time do not really exist but just in our own imagination created by our own mind for distinguishing between different events. I rationalized with my Consciousness-

ME: but as you yourself are agreeing that distinct events do exist then these events must involve distinct matter, matter occupies space & these distinct events must occur at distinct times !!! so we can postulate from this that as events exist then so must matter, space & time 

Consciousness: Hmm. Dear Ajay, your argument here seems good to you on first look , but what you are missing  here again is, that there are no distinct multiple events going on here in the Universe .There is  if just for the sake of explanation , only one event , the Universe is itself that event . You have broken that one single event into fragments and are calling them different distinct events. You have created event-fragments like people, Earth, Planets, satellites, solar system, Interstellar space, galaxies, black holes and the Universe on a macro level. Further still you have broken it down to micro level, even to the atomic & subatomic level to particles like quarks etc. For the Universe, it is just one (not these fragments) just like for you, you are this one entire body not just the eyes, lungs, heart or liver. 

Just like there is no question of you traversing your own self so too for the Universe there is no such thing as traversing across itself. It is just here, and now.
Remember what I said earlier “matter, space & time do not really exist”, right? Well in reality nothing of this exists as ‘You’ see it in its form. All this is just a mirage or your own conception of It. Let me elucidate with an example. You see a cloud in the sky, you may describe its shape as that of some object or resembling some face or animal. But is it really like that? for someone else it may resemble altogether something different. So, it is neither how you incepted it nor how the other person did. ‘It’ is as ‘itself’. Do you understand now?

M: Yes, a little. Maybe it is Yes & No both. No wait, I haven’t understood anything at all. I am more confused really, trying to grasp what you are saying. Can you be more clearer please.

C: To put it simply Ajay, what you decipher through your senses is not how it originally is. If at all to put it in the perspective of your world, consider another example: There is a star you call by the name ‘Alpha Centurai6 ’ which is about 4.3 light years away from your world (Earth). It means that when you are observing it through your telescope, what you see is the image which was 4.3 light year ago, not its present image. In that sense, what you see is never the real thing, never the original.
So, the concept of matter, space & time is a thing of perspective only, they all differ when the perspective is different. Do you understand this far? 

M: Yes, a little, but then there are still some questions?

C: Ok, so far so good. We will answer your questions in the course if you still have them after you hear me out, what I have tell you. 

Now a quick revision backwards –
      1. Matter, space & time is a thing of perspective only, meaning they change as the perspective
      changes. So, in that sense they are not real, original & permanent. They change or appear as per the perception of the preceptor . 
      2. What you decipher through your senses is also not originally as it is. it varies with perspective.
3.  Matter, Space & Time do not really exist. The Universe is one single event from its own perspective and it just exists outside (transcending) of this matter, space and time theory, which is your perspective. 

So, Ajay, When I told you that interstellar travel is not so difficult, it was from my perspective, because I am this Universe, I am its Consciousness just like I am your Consciousness or Consciousness of everything in this Universe. Everything for me is instantaneous, in that instant. For me there is no matter, space or time. For 'Me' it’s just me. I just exist. Just as every cell in your body is you , so also everything what you see in this Universe is me .I am this Consciousness and I communicate with myself through this intricate web what you call the Universe just as the intricate web of cells in your body communicate .I am only one even though I may seem many ,In your words , I am the sum total of all individual Consciousness of this Cosmos  put-together .By my nature itself , I am everywhere .In your words Omnipresent ,Omniscient & Omnipotent .There is nothing which is outside of me ,there is  nothing other than me at any time . I am not matter. For me there is no space outside of me. For me there is no Time. I do not travel as there is no need to, I am EVERYWHERE. Now do you understand or do you still have any questions?

M: I understood the theory or should I say your logic. Just like I AM every cell in me (Every cell in me is me and it has my DNA. I know modern science so it’s not too difficult to understand the analogy) so are you in all the things in this Universe. Ok fine. But , if YOU are MY Consciousness & also the Consciousness of all the things in this Universe. Then why is it that I do not know what you know? I do not know what the other person Knows. I do not see what you or the other person sees. Why is there such a huge difference of perception?

C: Ah, Now, my dear you are seriously thinking in the right direction. Since now you understand the analogy, it won’t be too difficult understand what I am about to explain now taking the analogy further in terms of your perspective.
You now understand splendidly that you are present in each of your cell (through your DNA7 & your Consciousness). Science has thought you that for each cell/or a group of cells is there a specific purpose/function. Yes, it is connected to each cell in your body despite the difference in its specific purpose/function through your Consciousness. Although a cell/or a group of cells may not recognize or know another directly it knows the other through Consciousness. Cells communicate through their own language of chemical signals/or micro electrical impulses. Similarly, I communicate through a special signal which is yet just theoretical in your world. They have named it as ‘Tachyon’8. They have not yet been able to prove its existence in your reality. One day soon they will.
Now to answer your questions –
Well sometimes some cells in your body do not listen and go against their specific purpose/ function. They voluntarily or involuntarily go against the Consciousness. They cease to see their purpose. They act against the other cells. They no longer see /do/feel what the Consciousness does. They are not in sync with other cells or the Consciousness. They just cease.
Same with people once they involuntarily or voluntarily cease to be in sync with me, they no longer see what I see, hear, understand and feel. It’s that simple.
Now my dear Ajay, have you understood this far?

M: Yes, a little more maybe than what I did before. But If You are myself, how is it that we are having this dialogue in 1st place as we are two different beings?

C:  Ha, Ha, Ha. Dear Ajay, that is because you consider yourself to be Ajay the body . Ajay, Ajay, Ajay get up Ajay.

Suddenly from deep sleep ,I heard my wife Gayatri calling my name . I woke up to her call . A new day had begun , bringing with it the new challenges I had to conquer ....
