Ganga – The Holy Indian River

As the great incarnation of the lord traverses this universe with his three steps, his toe pierces the layers of this egg-shaped universe and from this hole the waters of the causal ocean enter in the form of the divine 'Ganga' the holiest of rivers.

The nature of Ganga is to 'flow' as she appears from the causal ocean and traverses the Milky Way descending upon the locks of Lord Siva, her unique nature expressed in her name 'Ganga' whose meaning is that which goes ( ga ) swiftly ( anga ).

"Ma Ganga' can also be seen in 'Mekong' the sixth longest river in Asia which travels some three thousand miles as it journeys from the Tibetan Plateau through the lands of China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and into the South China Sea.

Mekong translates as the 'mother of all waters' yet its real meaning can be seen within 'Mae Phra Kongkha' a deity which is worshipped throughout the lands of Thailand whose meaning is 'Mae'meaning 'mother' and 'Kongkha' which is the Thai name for 'Ganga'. Although the spellings and the names are different , do notice the sounds and mouth formations which are similar .

'Mae Phra Kongkha' is a river goddess from Thailand and one who travels on the back of a crocodile just as we have the river goddess Ganga who travels upon the back of a crocodile, hence we can see how the 'Konga' in 'Mekong' is 'Ganga'.

Ga whose meaning is that which is constantly 'going' and 'moving' expands to form 'Gau' and 'Gaus' whose meaning is 'cow' so named as its constantly moving and from this we get the word 'Cow'.

Gaus which means 'cow' is the source of 'Bous' a word from the language of Greece meaning 'cow' and we also get 'Bovis' and 'Bovine' words from the language of Latin meaning 'cow'.

Gaus which becomes 'Bous' can be seen in the 'Bosphorous' the river of Turkey whose meaning is the cow ( bos ) crossing ( porus ) and it can also be seen within the word 'Butter' and also 'Botany' whose meaning expresses grazing and pasture.

Ga whose meaning is 'go' becomes 'Gan' meaning 'to go in a group' and this becomes 'Gana' meaning 'group' and 'tribe' and this forms the great personality 'Ganesh' whose meaning is the lord ( isa ) of the tribes ( gana ).

Ganga (Cyrillic: Ганга) is a type of singing that originated from rural Dinaric Mountain region. It is most commonly found in the regions of Herzegovina and Dalmatia, but it can also be found to an extent in western Bosnia, Lika, Kordun and rural areas of north-west Montenegro. It is characterized by a lone singer singing a single line of lyrics, followed by others joining in, using a vocal style that is best described as a wail.

(To wail means to cry or howl – This means “ Rudan” in Sanskrit , “Rudan” comes from the Vedic god “Rudra” as we have already learned in the etymology of Shiva. I think that this is how Rudra of Vedic times who later was called Shiva is related to Ganga the River of Moksha ( who washes the sins away )

-Ajay Sardesai .

Ganga has historically been closely associated with the region of Herzegovina, where it has developed as a strong sense of cultural identity. To ensure its survival, both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia have taken measures to protect ganga as part of their cultural heritage and encourage its performance.

Philosophically in human beings Shiva has his seat in the pineal gland or sahasrára cakra. All the actional faculties and actional urges are controlled from the controlling point of the pineal gland. That point is called Parama Shiva or Gauṋgádhara (the flow of Gaunga/Ganga)
